Creating art has been an innate reaction to the world around me and transcribing wordless emotions. I use art to study my environments and to self-reflect.
Drawing with things like chalk, conte crayon, or charcoal have always been my preferred mediums. Physicality gets involved: Expression comes through rugged lines created from their uneven qualities, the softness created by rubbing onto paper, and the painterly look one can achieve. Drawing feels like an original way of photographing.
Artistry is consistent learning and exploration, discovery, and a reflection of those encounters. I've learned no matter how old a creator gets, there's always more knowledge and skill to be developed. There is no ceiling to art because art is more than physical. It is a way of perceiving and understanding. It is a form of studying, falling in love with the seemingly insignificant or unseen, and transcribing wordless experiences and phenomena (...and the list goes on infinitely).
I do not aim to "convince" audiences with my artwork or sway them a certain way, but rather to expand their schemas of art and environment. Art is one of the best ways to bring people together and learn about one another.
